    RJ's Blog
    Wednesday, 18 January 2012

Trying to cover the entire social media network, this is now my attempt to blog.  Here we go!

It has been a cold start to the day, but the day looks like it will be awesome.  Already been busy here at the club.  One of my students, Eric Ha was here fighting the elements and working on his game.  I'm a big believer in creating and building relationships with my students.  I believe this makes my students a lot more comfortable and confident around me and during our sessions.  One way to help me build these relationships is to walk the tee line.  I walk the tee line to see if any of my students are working on their game and I like to stop and visit with them.  I'm really just trying to see how their session is going for the day and to reinforce what we were working on the previous lesson.

Well, I put all my cold gear on and headed out to the tee line to say hello to Eric Ha.  Our previous lesson Mr. Ha and I were working on getting the club pointing more down the target line at the top of his backswing.  He has been struggling with the club pointing too much to the right at the top of his backswing and also with a cupped left wrist.  From this position, he would come from the outside on his downswing and hit high, weak shots out to the right.  So this morning I was trying to reinforce the drills that I had told him to work on in the previous lesson.  He really seemed to be grasping on because he has really made some progress.  He doesn't have it completely fixed, but the club is getting a lot closer to pointing down the target line and the left wrist is starting to become more flat which is squaring the club face.  He is now beginning to hit more straight, lower, and more solid shots!  I love seeing that little smile on my students faces after they just hit a pure golf shot!  That is my passion, seeing people succeed and enjoy this wonderful game!  Keep working hard Mr. Ha!
