Blog #2
It always seems that there are never enough hours in the day. Thursdays are my days behind the counter in the golf shop. I really enjoy Thursdays, because it allows me to interact with our "regulars" and also meet new customers. As I can sarcastically say, I can also make sure on Thursdays that the duties of my assistants are getting done and getting done consistently and properly. I am being facetious, I have the best group of guys on my staff! They really do deserve the majority of the credit for how well Alamo Golf Club runs.
So, in between helping customers and taking care of my weekly duties, I like to update Twitter, Facebook, and now my new blog. Well, yesterday as I was sitting at the desk behind the counter, I looked up to see what time it was and next to the clock is my Certified Ping Fitter Certificate. I then noticed that it has been expired since the 31st of December 2011. Well that became the #1 priority for the day rather than all my social media efforts. I email Jeff, my Ping sales rep and he gives me the directions of how to get the online certification started. This certification process is supposed to take around 2 hours to finish. Well, with helping customers, answering phones, etc.. it turned into about 4 1/2 hours. To make a long story short, I passed the certification test with flying colors about 10 minutes before my first lesson of the day began. I was extremely happy to get it done and not have to go back to it today just for the reason that everything was fresh in my mind.
What a great process to go through! Going through the course and taking the final test has really sharpened my knowledge even more. So for all you golfers out there in the market for new clubs, just an FYI, I am a Certified Titleist and Ping Club Fitter. I've got everything from drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, and wedges to fit you with or if you just want to demo a few clubs. So come on out and get fitted by a PGA Professional. It will change your game forever!
Until next time, hit it in the short grass!
